MISSION
The purpose of PAWS is to enhance and support the educational experience at GIS, to develop a close connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement, and to improve the environment at GIS through volunteer or financial support.
BOARD MEMBERS
PAWS committee is a group of parents, administrators, and teachers at GIS that share the common goal of improving the educational experience at GIS.

PAWS MEETINGS
PAWS meetings are held on the first Thursday night of each month at 6:00 pm in the GIS Cafeteria.
STUDENT SUPPORT
This year PAWS has provided student support in the following areas:
- Collected snack cakes and provided volunteers for the 4th-grade fundraiser
- Provided volunteers to support the Gardening Club
- Provided volunteers and supplies for Literacy Night
- Created a classroom needs materials list for students
- Donated materials from the classroom needs list
- Provided club sponsors for the Robotics Club
- Connected GIS with a yoga instructor to create a Yoga Club
- Provided 30 mats for the Yoga Club
- Sponsored and supported an All Pro Dad chapter at GIS.
FUTURE SUPPORT
PAWS is planning various events that require more support. Parents have expressed that they enjoy attending various community events at GIS. PAWS would like a family movie night, game night, and other activities to get families into the school and network with other families.

PARENT ROUND-TABLES
PAWS is also present during the Round-Table sessions each quarter at GIS. These events are for parents to come and speak with GIS leadership and PAWS officials about items they are interested in or need more information.
